I used to treat Tian Wen's "Eyes on the Prize" like any other quick Buried City run, then I realised it's basically a prep-check mission. Before you drop, make sure you've already got three Wires sitting in your inventory, not "maybe I'll find them." You can loot Wires easily in calmer raids, or break down spare tech back at base, but in this mission you don't want to be rummaging through boxes while people are hunting shots and ARC patrols are drifting your way. If you're also sorting your kit and stash between runs, it's the same mindset as planning your spend on ARC Raiders Coins—do it ahead of time so the actual raid stays clean and simple.

The three Wires aren't negotiable, and that's the whole trap. Lots of players tell themselves, "I'll just snag them on site," then burn ten minutes checking toolboxes, electrical crates, and junk piles while their noise pulls attention. Bring a small, steady loadout too. Something you can reload fast, something that doesn't punish you for short bursts of panic. You're not here to farm kills, you're here to touch one object and leave. If you've got room, carry a basic heal and a couple of throwables for a quick disengage. Don't overthink it, but don't arrive empty-handed either.

Once you're in the Buried City, orient yourself around the Southern Station extraction point. The quest target sits on a roof terrace just southwest of that extract, and the best tell is the blue tarps hanging over the side. The UI marker can feel vague, so open your map early and actually commit to a route. If you start wandering, you'll clip corners you didn't mean to, and that's when you bump into roaming ARC units or another squad that heard you climbing. Move like you've got somewhere to be, because you do.

On the terrace, you'll see the solar panel and an electrical box near those tarps. Walk up, hit the prompt, and your character does a short rewire animation. If you brought the Wires, the objective ticks instantly. No puzzle, no extra items, no "hold the area" nonsense. After that, you can choose to slip away and extract, or rotate for loot if the raid feels quiet. Just remember: the quest completion is the easy part, keeping your gear is the part that stings.

Back at base, Tian Wen pays you with Extended Shotgun Mag II and Extended Medium Mag II, and you'll feel that difference the next time a fight drags on longer than you planned. Bigger mags mean fewer desperate reloads and more control when you're getting pushed or swarmed. If you're building toward stronger raids, it's one of those upgrades that quietly smooths everything out, and it pairs nicely with sensible planning—whether that's your route, your stash, or even how you decide to shop for ARC Raiders Coins buy when you're tightening up the rest of your loadout.
